who i am

My name is John Therrell. I am an undergraduate at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Computing & Software Systems. Things couldn’t be better, as I’m about to live the dream this Summer as an intern at Apple!

In 2009, I made a decision to change my intended career path from Systems Engineering to Software Development. When I first moved to Seattle in 2008, I had a valuable opportunity to intern as a Systems Engineer at Avanade. For the next 15 months, I experienced first-hand what my career would be like as a Systems Engineer. Although I enjoyed many aspects of my role, I found myself wanting to play a more active role in the development of software and new technologies.

I am excited to have the knowledge and skills of a software developer at a time when the world of technology is rapidly changing. There are so many opportunities for revolutionary software products to change our businesses, our lives, our world. I hope to be on the bleeding edge, developing game-changing software in an innovative company.
